Sorry it took so long to get back to this.... One thing to remember - the HSUS and the HSC (Humane Society of Canada ?) are in no way "flagships" for the rest of the humane societies in either country. The fact that they bear similar names means absolutely nothing much the same way that any donations made to at least the HSUS do not necessarily get distributed throughout local humane societies across the country. This always makes me wonder just what the $160 million +/- is going towards other than the six figure salaries of the top 6 or so employees of the HSUS especially since I do not believe that the HSUS operates even one shelter in the US - someone please correct me if I'm wrong.
