::i currently volunteer at an animal shelter....if you are in IL perhaps youve heard of it.....paws animal shelter located in tinley park.....but my shelter does take in animals....we have a stray room which takes in the tinley park strays that teh police bring in....and we only refuse animals if we are FULL....yes we do get full but we usually require a fee if you want to give up your animal....but then again my shelter is an animal shelter that operates out of donations and is not a humane society....i adopted one of my dogs from chicago ridge human society and they usually have ALOT more dogs than we do....and have alot bigger building.....the only reason they might have turned away the kitten is the fact that they might not have had any room for it then.....im not making excuses for the humane society or anything i just think that it was wrong to send them to teh vet hospital without calling the hospital first and with out at least offering to give the little girl a ride or anything.....
::but thats just me....
