Hi Mr.D,
Sorry I haven't gotten back sooner. I origionally just stumbled upon this forum, and couldn't remember how to get back. Anyway I'm in complete agreement on your views about HSUS. The thing that origionally alerted me about them was that my wife used to donate to them, and that I keep reptiles. Their campaign against the reptile trade was full of inaccurate figures and boldfaced lies. I've been in contact with many people involved in the reptile trade over the last 29 years and have never known of a reptile related salmonella case. I still keep asking myself why does HSUS even exist. No one benefits from them, well nobody honest anyway. If you think about it HSUS is responsible for the deaths of so many cats and dogs every day. Money that is donated to HSUS is intended in good faith to help animal shelters to run better so more animals can be maintained in healthier conditions. Instead animals are either being euthanized or turned away because of over crowding or lack of funds. If HSUS contributers new the truth about them they could start donating to actual animal shelters. Wouldn't it be great if HSUSs' only funds were coming from animal rights extremist. How can we help this to happen? How can we get the word out to more cat and dog lovers? Anyway didn't mean to rant. I just can't stand to see anyone get wealthy that can't remember the last honest buck they earned. My two cents. Alan,
