Thank you for your poem. Though it brought tears to my eyes and a pain in my heart. You see...I am one of those people who stop and talk to the birds in the petstore. I am also one of the people...who complain to the store if the cage is not clean or if there seems to be something wrong with the beautiful bird.
I have always felt like these precious gifts should be left in the wild. I know there are those who are equipped to take care of them properly...but far to many..buy these birds and then ignore them after the newness wears off. If only people would realize..every living thing has a heart..and can feel. I wonder how each of us would feel if we were taken from our home..put in a cage...and left. Again..thank you for reminding all of us..that these beautiful birds...are better left in THEIR world.
Pat and the tribe..
Jake,Sadie and Beaus spirit in my heart forever..
