October is National Adopt a Shelter Dog Month! Friday Chats: Open Dog Chat, Multi-Cats, Pet Loss, and more!

Today (Friday Nov. 1) was All Saints Day. It was also the day that I said my last goodbyes to a wonderful dog that gave me the privledge of 11 and a half awesome years. Her name was Sandy, a completely devoted golden retriever who's been with me since she was born. She was born on June 19th, 1991... on my mother's birthday. It didn't take long for an innocent 10 year old girl to fall helplessly in love with her. I can never thank my father enough for letting me keep her.
Sandy was never a brave dog, she couldn't hunt. She was never going to win smart dog of the year either. But she was so very loving. She greeted the world with a wagging tail and the tapping sound of her nails as she danced happily at our feet.
I can only hope that where ever she is now she is comfortable and happy. I hope she's joined her mother, Brandy, and her very good friend BJ our cocker spaniel that we lost last year.
We'll never forget you Sandy, Love you forever.
