Memories of LittleLady:
My little 20-yr old poodle mix passed away on August 31, 2002 of acute kidney failure. She was the BEST dog I have ever had.
I loved the way the top of her head smelled. I used to bathe her every week and used my conditioner. She loved getting her hair dried afterwards with my blow dryer. But don't try to brush her tail, she hated that. Her ears smelled wonderful also...
She used to follow me around the house and demand to be picked up. My husband always said "no wonder she stayed so long, her feet never touch the ground". If I was sitting in the recliner, she had to be next to me in the chair with one paw on my lap. She wanted to sleep in bed with me each night. She loved to "spoon" with me, crawling under the covers and putting her head on the pillow next to me. On the nights my husband worked the midnight shift, she got to sleep with me all night, the other nights he would put her in her bed when he went to sleep.
I loved reading the Sunday paper with LittleLady on my lap.
She loved to sit outside on the back step and lay in the sunshine. If there was a sunny spot in the house, that's where she would curl up.
When it was time to go to bed she would toddle off to her bed sometimes, then come back out in the hallway and bark once or twice to tell us it was bedtime.
She loved to snack...my husband would always share his potato chips, fritos, pretzels, etc. One day he went outside to check the mail and left a bag of fritos on the floor (Bad husband, he knows better!). When he came back in all he saw was the back end of Little Lady and a wagging tail, and her head buried in the snack bag! (She only got a few...)
Go quickly to the bridge, sweet girl, wait with Harry, Patty, BigCat, BabyCat, and Tiger, until we meet again...
