:I live in Texas and yesterday I found a box turtle infront of my steps he has a major problem. He is quit impacted, his rectum is swollen to about a half of an inch and is not eating and is very lithargic. My wife removed an inch long piece of stool and he is still swollen and won't eat. I'm afraid he'll die soon if I can't help the little guy. Any suggestions, please?
If you do not get a response ASAP from box turtle forum, please contact a vet ASAP! To find a herp vet in your area, check out the below link. And please let us know what happens. BTW many vets work closely with nature centers and will offer discounted good samaritan rates.
