Don't forget to contact your local Chamber of Commerce and Better Business Bureau. Pet stores count on you becoming attached to the animal. Of course you don't want it replaced and they know this. Most pet stores have some sort of warranty or guarantee for up to the purchase price of the animal. If you have the purchase agreement read through the fine print and make sure that they weren't feeding you a line over the phone. I know from dealing with a certain large national chain of petstores that once the credit card swipes through the machine, their record keeping capabilities go down the toilet VERY quickly. Good luck!
