This may be old news to some of you but for the last year and a half a small independent group in florida has been trying to get an animal "cross walk" built to save thousands od animals from becoming roadkill in florida. There have been several articles written about it and they are all on this group's website. They are not asking for donations (though i imagine they'd take them) all they want is a bit of your time and a stamp (so okay i guess they are asking for the price of a postage stamp). They want you to write a letter to some government authortities to convince them to build this underpass they call it an "ecopassage". Literally tens of thousands of animals have been collected dead from this road in just the last three years (it is a major highway that divides a lake and one side is drying up due to drought so the animals migrate to the otherside via the road) They even have a pre-written form letter you can print and send so you don't have to write your own.

I am sure you hear about lots of animlas problems with which you'd like to help but there are always complications. You can't be sure if the money you send will be used in a intelligent or responsible way. Or maybe there are conflicts of interest between the animlas and the humnas involved where they are. Some times a fair amount of politics comes into play or there doesn't seem to be a viable soultion. But these guys at this site have worked out a reasonable plan and its one that has been enacted before to saev other animals. Please at least go to the site (its very very nicely put together) and see for yourself. You only need to take a few minutes to print a letter and then put a stamp on it and put it in the mail. I know this is a public forum and i suppose i am promulgating a private agenda so i will disclaim by saying you should at least see it for yourselves and make your own decsison. I think it will be hard to disagree as to what to do.

:Speaking freely, I think maybe there is too much work involved in merely tlaking in the forums and chats here. A month ago you didn't need a password and a username. For some reason now you do and I think that's part of the reason that alot of people aren't looking at a lot of these forums. You're setting yourself up for alot of arguments with a few of the foums titles you have listed.

:Thank you for your concern and opinion. Often topics like these do produce heated discussions. Heated Discussions are ok as long as people treat everyone with kindness. Discussions like these ones provide a great educational tool that open eyes to that not everyone agrees on the same thing. This is how we learn and form our opinions. These boards are monitored by me..and I get into the discussions also. If any posts seems inappropriate to you please email me and let me know. Once again Thank you for thoughts.
