:As of today Barbara Erickson was released from jail. She was ordered to have no contact with the shelter that has been caring for the dogs, and not to have any animal of any kind in her possession until the court case is resolved. She is probably not going to serve prison time but might go to jail, it depends on the jusges discretion (grrr, don't care if she is 76 or not). I was wrong on the number of dogs that had to be put down, it was 113 not 150 (thankfully). The local feed manufacturer (Zamzows) donated a truck today, to haul food and supplies for the nearly 500 dogs, and Zamzow customers have donated sixteen pallets of pet supplies. Over $5700 in cash and checks, $2,200 in gift certificates and $2,000 dog food.
:Right now what the dogs really need now is medical care. The shelter said that they are in need of grooming supplies like clipper blades and mange dip. You can drop off donations at any Zamzows or the Idaho Humane Society.
This outrages me!! What I don't understand is why animal control officers haven't kept tabs on this woman who has been in this situation before. When she got "one" dog it should of be removed from the house. This is one situation I wish was more watched over for. People who are told by the court of law they shouldn't have any more animals but are continued to do so. It's great to know that the people and companies are pulling together for these animals, I'm sure adoption will pour in to help these guys also. Keep us posted on what is going on!! Flea
