Well Jazmin is home and...OK but still very groggy and whoozy, a little confused too and wobbly on her hips with all the manipulation to get clear X-rays but has been sleeping it off since she came home. She ate a little baby food and drank a little milk but I think her tummy's a little upset from the anaesthetic. Hopefully she will be feeling better tomorrow. Tebeau is very worried! He can't leave her alone! We moved her bed through to the living room so we could keep an eye on her and Tebeau got in it with her! Then when she decided it was proper bed time about 9pm, and went through to the bedroom, Tebeau was up checking on her every 5 minutes. He knew something was up.

The bad news is her hip X-rays confirmed what had been thought - she is dysplastic in both hips, her left slightly worse. I thought that myself as she had been getting wobblier on that one. It is not a severe case, moderate at the momment and controlable with adapted diet and exercise, with painkillers when she needs them. Definitely going to be buying some Sasha's Blend now I think! And looking into alternative remedies, as I don't want her to be doped to her eyeballs in painkillers and steroids for the rest of her life. There is the option for surgery if/when required but as she is managing at the momment I don't want to put her through it unless we have to. I believe all that would be required is to deepen the socket and fix the ball joint more securely as her hips are in otherwise good condition. It is so upsetting tho, this was the thing I dreaded, she is so young and she is already limited in what she can do. Going to be looking into other activites for her, other than agility, as she really needs to work to feel contented. Perhaps after surgery she will be able to do agility but we will cross that bridge when we come to it. Once again, thank God for insurance! At least I can give her the very best care money can buy.
