That looks like a great pair. We do hope that you are able to make the right decision for your baby. I know how it feels, I have been going through something similar with my boy Jake.
I have decided to go ahead and have the torn cruciate ligament fixed, it's just a matter of getting the money together to get it done.
Good luck, keep us posted.

Hello,
:I'm trying to decide on what to do for my cat, so here's his story.
:I adopted a cat from the humane society almost a year ago. I spent so much time there trying to pick one out, and had narrowed it down to 3 until I took a closer look in one of the cages at a cat huddled in the corner and saw his tail. It was just a stump, so I had to check him out. He had come in as a stray, but ended up being the sweetest, most docile cat! Even at the humane society, when he didn't know me, he wanted to be held belly up like a baby and I had too take him home. He seemed perfect for my niece and nephews (who I live with) and his tail gave him character. My 4 yr old niece named him Pumpkin.
:He was extremely shy and thin when I brought him home. He had a funny walk, but I didn't really notice it too much and the vet didn't find any problems when I brought him for his free visit. Anyway, as he came out of his shell, he began to eat - and eat, and eat. I had to have major surgery about a month after recieving him, so it was hard for me to limit his food. I just kept his bowl full so I wouldn't have to get up so often. The more weight he gained, the funnier he walked. His left leg pointed out sideways and he would usually hold it straight out when he sat. After I recouperated for about 6-7 months, I began volunteering at the vet again. He was limping/hopping by this time, so they said they would take another look at him and take x-rays. It turns out that he has quite a few problems. His right leg had been broken at one time and there is a bone fragment in the joint and he is severely arthritic there and in his lower spine. His left leg has a luxating patella and possibly torn cruciate ligament which can possibly be fixed with surgery. He also has some other bone deformities going along with his extremely kinked tail. Last of all, he had been shot and has a BB lodged in his belly.
:So now I'm stuck trying to decide what to do. He's a happy cat (except for the diet, which he HATES!), and he's taking aspirin right now. It doesn't seem to help a whole lot, but the vets aren't sure whether it would really help much to do the surgery becuase of the other problems he has. Also, because of my surgery and continued complications, I've lost out on a lot of work and am severely struggling financially while still trying to attend classes. Because I volunteer there, the vets are willing to work with me though, but it's still hard to come up with money for a surgery that may not help when rent can't be paid.
:I don't really know what to do right now. He's had such a hard life (obviously) and I want to do what's best for him...
:Thanks for listening.
