I put Charlie's picture in the memorial. I still cannot believe that it was taken 2 weeks before he died. He looks so good and doesn't look like a dog that was ready to leave this world. It just doesn't seem possible that he would just fall asleep and not wake up. When I was 10 my father died at age 38 the same way.

To make matters worse...I have a small pond in my yard and this frog (who knows where he came from I live in the city) has been living in there for two years and I found him dead at the bottom of the pond. It brought feeling of the day Charlie died and I found him.

I just don't get it. Charlie had arthritis and was getting weekly shots but other than that he was fine. He had blood tests and all organs were good. Life just seems so unfair...but like you said I'm very greatful that he was in my life...I couldn't even imagine my life without him in it. When I found him 13 years ago it was by a miracle and even though I'm very sad I wouldn't change a thing.
