I'm feel so sorry for you. You have to just believe that he made it to someones house and that they feel in love with him like you did. Maybe they didn't see your ad and decided to give him a home (especially if he was super friendly). I remember once a long time ago, my mother brought home a finch that flew into her work and we decided to give him a home. So it is possible.

I understand your grief though...I lost my dog of 13 years a week ago and I understand the crying, not eating and feeling of being alone. I do have another dog of 9 years but he is not my Charlie.

Maybe it just takes time...in your case though, you have to believe that he found his way into someone elses heart and he is ok.
