God Speed little Valentine. I have added Valentine to the Candle Ceremony for this week.
Please do not bear the blame on her passing. It would appear that you had done all that you could have done. Sometimes it's just out of our hands. Thank goodness she didn't suffer a long painful illness.
Hugs to you and your family.

My little Valentine died on 3/31/03 very unexpectedly. She was at my feet and seemed to have a seizure on her back, kicking her legs, squirming. I didn't know what was wrong. I didn't know how to help her. She died within a few minutes. I was in shock. I held her for over an hour in my arms. My kids were hysterical and crying. I cried for 3 days and 3 nights without stopping. Now I cry on and off. She was only 9. She was born with a heart murmur but in September the vet said her heart sounded good. She was on special shots for a year to boost her immune system and to clear up a skin condition. Maybe I shouldn't of took her off those shots. Maybe the vet should of checked her heart twice a year. I tried telling him that she made these wheezing noises after she barked too much or got too excited when I had company last summer. Was something wrong then? Was it a sign? He checked her heart and said it sounded good. I took such good care of her, where did I go wrong or not live up to my responsibilities. We loved her so much, we are heart broken. She was such a good dog.
