I think this is one of those freak things that happen that no one can predict or prevent. I'm so sorry Tercel had such a long period of suffering and that you had to listen and not be able to help. Horrible, isn't it? I'm certain that his last thought was not what you feared but rather "Thanks for taking away the pain. I feel your love and I love you."
