I am very sorry for your loss. After 9 years with someone its like losing your right arm. All I can say is that in time the hurt will lessen and you do whatever you have to do to give you comfort. I have a special corner in my bedroom with my dog Sams ashes in a casket and it gives me comfort to have them there. There is no wrong or right with grief, just whatever works for you
