::Hey you guys, I'm kinda stuck. The driftwood I have in my RES tank has become a bit too algae-fied for my liking (duh!) and now I need to look for another alternative as a basking spot. I hate cork. I don't want those fake floating lilly pads either. I want the spot to stand in the center of the tank, not leaning on a side. The wood I have now is about 21 in. long and is barely held above water by a strong thread put through 2 holes in one corner. Since it would be nearly impossible for me to find another peice of wood that would fit so perfectly, I really should look for something else. I've thought about buying one of those Top Fin poly-resin fake wood things and cutting the base limbs to lower it, but it's been called to my attention that the poly-resin may harm my RES. I've also thought about cementing smaller rocks to be a base for a larger peice of slate. But then again, there could be an easier alternative. That's where you guys come in. The dimensions of the tank are about 23" by 16" and the basking perch can't be any higher than maybe 9-10". If anyone could help me out with this, I would be so thankful! Pictures always work best for me :) But if you have any ideas and can describe what you think I should do, that would be great as well ;)~ Thanks!

lolol Faust I was sitting over in Cold Blooded last night and had no clue what a RES was....now I know. Duh-Red Eared Slider. Steve what about stacking up some slate, that is what I've always used in my tanks.
Good Luck
