I have a 4 month old Panther Chameleon, "Frankie". He was in good health when I bought him. He has problems with his left eye about a month ago. The vet said it was a bulbar abcess. About 10-12 days ago, I noticed Frankie was thinner, staying on the ground mostly, and not eating or drinking. I just got him back from the vets, who confirmed that Frankie is, without a doubt, blind in both eyes. I've been hand feeding him mushed up veggies, crickets, and silkworms for a few days, but now he's refusing to eat or drink altogether.
:Question #1: Is there any way to encourage him to eat? Do you think it's worth trying to keep him going for the rest of his life?
:Question #2: If humane euthanasia is the solution, I'm told we can put him in the freezer, and that would not make him suffer.
:Any thoughts?
