Pat you are a wonderful mom to your furbabies. I know how special they all are but Jake and CK have been with you for such a very long time.

I don't want to minimize your pain, so don't misunderstand. However, 15 years is a great length of time to be blessed with our companions. As a matter-of-fact, 15 years is a very long time for a "large breed" dog to stay with us.

I knew when we got our Jake 3 years ago, that we would be lucky to have him 10 years. Anything after that would be "icing on the cake" so to speak. If you will recall, I didn't even want to get another large dog after we lost Caesar because I knew I would out live him and wasn't willing to deal with the pain. Apparently Caesar knew I needed him and sent him to us anyway.

Hang on to CK and treasure the time you have left with her. She will let you know when she's ready to join her brother. Painful as it may be for you, when the time comes you will help ease her journey to "Rainbow Bridge".

I will continue to add CK to the special needs list for the Candle Ceremony every Monday.

Candle Ceremony & Lists

I know..that the time for my decision is drawing very close. CK is now having the same problems Jake was having. Her back legs twist and she is falling more and more. I know she is losing the feeling and ability to tell where her feet are planted. I will not allow her to be in pain. She is eating...and walks to me and responds to me...but she is getting very unsteady. I just hope God will give me the strength to let her go...and when I do..that she will know how hard it will be for me. I love my old girl so much. She has been a trooper since losing her brother. She has graced my life now for over fifteen years. How blessed I have been to have had her with me for so long. I think she has stayed with me to help my heart since Jake died. I only wish I could have done more for her. She is so sweet..and when I let her go..I will miss her grace and strength. Please keep my precious old girl in your prayers. Its pretty hard not knowing how much food to buy. I went to the vets and got some more rymadyl for her...and even wondered how much to buy. I went ahead and bought another full bottle in hopes that by some miracle I can keep her with me another few months. Thanks for listening.
:Please pray for my old girl.
:Pat and the tribe..
:Jake,Sadie and Beaus spirits in my heart forever..
