What I would do honestly, is to find another vet for a second opionion and better diagnosis before even considering putting the pet to sleep. I had a TERRIBLE experience with one vet, that I thought I could trust. The vet gave me a HORRID resolution for putting my fish to sleep as they weren't going to assist me with putting guppies to sleep. You know fish are pets too! Turns out the VET was DEAD wrong with advice given me for performing the procedure myself.

From that moment on we found a new vet, one we were able to call at any hour and one that was able to help us with any of our questions regarding our baby Sammy cat. Our new vet owns his veteranarin hospital so he takes great care and understanding about all animals in to visit with him. It makes a great deal of difference when confronting sick animal issues.

So, my advise, make a change, get a second opionion. Find someone that will answer ALL of your questions to your satisfaction.
