:Dayle...first let me begin by saying how sorry I am for all that you have been going through. They say..those with the biggest hearts..who tend to take all they can in to help..are those hearts which get broken the most. I think that might apply to you. Second..you could not have known that Bethie would cross the road. We think we keep them safe..and protect them..but sometimes..unfortunately accidents happen. We live and learn by them. It does not stop the hurt or guilt..but it makes us more cautious in the future. I think accidents like this tend to hit us so hard. When we love them the most..we also beat ourselves up more when something happens. Bethie knew how much you loved her and protected her. She knew that you were not at fault for the accident. She died knowing..she was loved to the moon and back by a person who saved her from utter abuse. Bless you for that. At least she did not die in that horrible crate filled with feces and urine. That would have been much worse. For her never to have known your love and what happiness is. You gave her that...always remember that.
Third...I can't tell you to PTS your cocker. Only in your heart can you decide that. Heck...I can't even make the decision for my fifteen year old GSD/Akita mix. Sure..I know its probably time. After losing three of my beloved furkidz this year though...my heart is just not ready to let her go. Soon I will have to. Until then...I hold her as close as I can and tell her every day that she is my bestest old girl..and I love her so very much. When you do make the decision..we will be here for you. My prayers and heartfelt hugs are being sent to you. Hold the precious memories of Bethie close to your heart. She is safe now...waiting patiently for you when it is your time. Always remember..she died knowing in her heart..how much you loved her. Their spirits remain with us always..and we never forget how blessed our lives were having them with us. Take care of yourself and please let us know how you are doing.
Pat and the tribe..
Jake,Sadie and Beaus spirits in my heart forever...
