Yes please keep us apprised. In the meantime, I will add your kitty to our Candle Ceremony on Monday. I hope your son will be okay.
Yes I know that sound. I had to tell my son over the phone about his cat being poisoned by a neighbor while he was gone to the Navy. It's been years and years ago but the sound stays in your heart for a very long time.

Just discovered that a mammary tumor on our favorite cat has burst open and is draining. There is an appointment to have her checked tomorrow but we are sure that she will have to be put down. I am just beside myself with grief.. I have two sons who adored her.. one in Minnesota and one in college. How do I handle telling them? Do I let them know before? (Today) or after (10 a.m. tomorrow)? My youngest was heartbroken two years ago when we had to put another cat down and we didn't let him go with us. He gave us a passage to read in Chicken Soup for the Pet Lover's Soul that detailed the hurt for the author about not knowing from his parents until it was over. So I guess I should call him, but... to make matters worse.... he is due to come home for the weekend Friday around midnight....... about 14 hours after the appointment... so NOW what do I do? I can barely see the ketboard through my tears.
