It sounds as though you've done everything you could for Oasis and love him very much. It is difficult to make the decision to put a pet to sleep, but it's also the kindest thing to do when they are suffering. Try not to think of it as a bad thing, you are setting him free from his pain. I'm sure he knows you love him, caring for a pet with health problems is never easy and takes a lot of love to do. Relieving their suffering also takes a lot of love, and I'm sure Oasis will know you have his best interest at heart.
Making this decision and dealing with the mixed feelings it brings must be very difficult without family support. There are real-time chats online every night if you need someone to talk to, we've all been there.
