:Gail, I have found by talking to many of our members that vets will come to your house to euthanize so the animal can be in the comfort of heir own home when they cross "Rainbow Bridge". Have you called your vet? I don't know where you are, but in some places there are mobile vets. I know there are several in our city.
:I beg you to please consult your vet before taking this action, but do let us know how things are going.

:To make 'the end' comfortable for my samoyed, who has diabetes, I would like to euthanize him at home, rather than put him through the stress of taking him to the vet to be put to sleep. His back legs are beginning to go out on him, he weighs 100+ and I know that one day, he just won't be able to get up. It would be different if he were a small dog, but it's going to be difficult for me to move him, obviously. I'd rather give him an overdose of insulin to euthanize him at home, where I can spend his last hours with him in peace. Is this possible? I'd like to hear from a vet or someone with the knowledge to guide me in this idea.
