Cookeville Dog Killing

Hello. In Crookeville, Tennessee police officers stopped what they perceived to be a stolen car on a busy highway and in the process of pulling out the mother, father, and son and handcuffing them, the family repeatedly asked the officers to shut their doors b/c the dogs (2) would get out and get hit by the busy road. Finally one of the officers shut ONE door but left the other one open. One dog got out and came bounding around wagging it's tail, showing NO signs of aggression. He was killed with a shotgun by one of the officers- right in front of the family and the other dog. Also, the family did not steal anything and were arrested unlawfully. All of this was recorded by police video and can be seen by the CNN link below. I am unsure which officers were really involved but some names are listed in the reports.

This is an outrage and another show of male testosterone at work.
This police department has been overshadowed by many scandals over the years and this is another one. The officer does not show any real remorse as he says that he did NOT use "excessive" force (as if ending a life isn't excessive???) and the Crookeville police department have only reassigned him pending investigation.

I am asking that you notify EVERYONE on your email lists and everywhere you go that this officer and the other ones involved be FIRED from their jobs as a enforcement officers without severance pay and that they are (made from his pocket) to pay damages for the murder of the family's dog.

I can't help but think how much worse this could've turned out as what if it had been a child or another adult that bounded around and spooked the cop? Would he have shot a human so easily??? This officer is a menace to society and should NOT be allowed to work as a "protector" since he obviously is too quick to use his gun. He shot first and then asked questions later and that is very dangerous and NOT what is required in law enforcement.

I have links for those who would like to know more. I also have contact information.

It is time for the American people to stand up for OUR rights and stop the abuse by the law enforcement agencies. Please sign this petition, pass it around through your emails, at your place of business. But please do SOMETHING to let the law enforcement people know that enough is enough !

Totally Outraged,
