Not only will you be liable for childs medical bills and Childs parents will also be able to sue you for other damages. The dog warden will want to look into your dogs records. Also depending on what type of homeowners you have you may lose it. Some insurance companys will dump people that have dangerous dogs which now is what your dogs are considered. I had a rescue Dalmation that I was fostering and it bit my neice. I am lucky that my homeowners was garanteed renewable but they did insist that i put the dog down. Which I did. Sitting in the emergency room with my neice for hours and seeing her face was enough for me.
My other dogs that I have now are all ones I have raised from pups and they have went through obedience training and have their Canine good Citizens. I will never risk another child with a unstable dog. Attacking children is not considered normal behavior.
